I hear that some attorneys go into the field for the excitement and are disappointed.  I have a couple friends who are attorneys and from what I can gather there is much less glamour than one might think.  Even an attorney in an exciting field like federal drug crimes defense attorneys will spend a very large portion of their time doing paperwork.  It’s not all exciting trials and arguments!  I think that’s probably one of the biggest misconceptions about the practice of law, that the majority of the hard work takes place behind the scenes instead of in the courtroom.
