There is no doubt in my mind that I would choose granite benchtops for my next kitchen if I get the chance to renew the surfaces my wife and I work on cooking and washing dishes. They are just so solid and scratch-resistant! I have come to this position recently. We installed cabinets and a new benchtop in the kitchen last year and already I am noticing a dullness on the surface, which is black melamine, and tiny scratches in one or two places, even though we have been taking a lot of care when preparing food and using knives. So, next time, it’s going to be granite!
