The identical earlier Proto-Indo-European source
A theological college, theological college, or theology college is a special and oftentimes live-in advanced education institution for the aim of teaching pupils in philosophy, divinity, spirituality and the divine living, usually in order to train them to become members of the clergy. Scholars in a seminary especially of the Roman Catholic Church are known as Seminarians. The term “theological college” comes from Latin seminarium “seed bed”, the neuter form of Seminary “of or linked to seed”, used as a noun. This term is appropriate because a seminary college is where the seeds of religious up-bringing are inseminated. The root of this term is semen “seed”, which comes from the identical earlier Proto-Indo-European source that give us the words sow and seed.
