I recently returned from trip to the Caribbean. When I was there I saw dozens of beautiful sail boats floating quietly across the clear blue water. I had never been sailing before but when I saw that, saw how amazing it would be I wanted to learn. After I returned home I called several sailing schools asking about their sailing courses and if they had rya courses to discover what it would take to get my day skipper license. I knew I would only be sailing as a hobby so I wouldn’t need years of sailing courses. Instead, after doing a bit of research I discovered that the quickest way for me to get on the water would be to take rya courses and obtain my day skipper rights quickly and easily. I found a great place just down the coast from my house that offered weekend sailing courses for part time adventurer’s such as myself. It wasn’t long before I knew everything I needed to know from taking their rya courses. I was ready to sail. I had only one last thing to do and that was to take my day skipper test. It was early Sunday afternoon and the weather was hot and balmy. It was perfect I thought. I was a bit nervous but after finishing the rya courses I was prepared. Late Sunday after we returned to shore a cool breeze has begun blowing in from the south. As I got off the boat it ebbed gently in the water. Smiling I held my head high; I was now a day skipper.
